Mission: to meet the requirements of the University community for the information needed in research and studies, accept the challenges of a changing academic environment and communication technologies progress.

Tasks:
- the primary goal of the library is to supply readers with information regarding the progress of research, education and learning at the university;
- to make the local and external information resources accessible to the VILNIUS TECH community;
- to become an active participant in the study process, in individual and group work, seminars, lectures, and self-education.
History
1962 The Library was established (Basanavičiaus g. 28).
1962 Algirdas Antanas Baliulis is elected to lead the Library.
1997 The Library became the member of the „Lithuanian Academic Libraries Network“.
2000 September 14 The Library moved to renovated building in Saulėtekio al. 14 (architect prof. N. Bučiūtė).
2000 Ex Libris integral resources management system ALEPH 500 (the catologue of electronic publications search and order) was started to use.
2002 Electronic (Naugarduko g. 41), Architecture (Trakų g. 1/26), Building and Business Management (Saulėtekio ave. 11) Reading rooms were established.
2004 University graduation works were started to register in „Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library“ (ETD IS).
2005 The first art gallery was opened in Saulėtekis – Gallery A.
2007 The first 24/7 Reading room in Lithuania was opened.
2008 The modern platform of the electronic services „E. bridge of information: Library-University-Student (BUS)“ was created.
2009 Electronic publications were started to subscribe according the project „eMoDB.LT: Electronic scientific databases open for Lithuania“.
2010 The Library became the member of „Consortium of the Lithuanian Academic Libraries for the Maintenance and Development of an Information Infrastructure for Scientific and Studies“.
2016 Ingrida Kasperaitienė is elected to lead the Library.
2022 Director of the Library became the president of Lithuanian Research Library Consortium.
