About Automobile Transport Engineering studies
 
Who is the programme designed for?
Transport Engineering study programme belongs to the field of technological sciences and is designed for those who can be characterized by engineering-like thinking. Studies are focused on automotive exploitation, thus the central attention is drawn to theoretical aspects of machinery design and its safe maintenance, diagnostics, technological equipment, maintenance materials as well as work organization.  Automobile Transport Engineering study programme encompass Automotive theory, Constructions, Design and Exploitation. Upon completion of their studies graduates are awarded with Bachelor degree of Transport Engineering. 
 
What I will be qualified to do? 
You will acquire the competence of automobile engineer. You will be able to apply knowledge and comprehension of automobile design and exploitation, operational features of transport and technological equipment, diagnostics as well as application skills within the areas of economics, law and work organization. Upon completion of Transport Engineering Study programme you will be familiar with Automotive theory, Construction of  Transport means, its design and exploitation. In addition, you will gain neccessary tools and solutions for desigining technical maintenance enterprises. 
 
Where can I base my internship?
You can base your internship in automotive service enterprises, Road Transport Inspectorate, Organizations under the supervision of The Lithuanian Road Administration, Traffic Police, Fuel and Retail system and other transport and maintenance related enterprises. Internship positions are being offered by private transportation enterprises striving to develop a loyal employee. Additionally, a student may choose to base his/her internship in foreign enterprises.
 
Where can I go for my partial studies? 
Students can benefit from exchange programmes and spend one academic semester at foreign institutions of higher education. The main study partners within a framework of Erasmus Exchange programme: Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (School of Technology) (Finland), HAMK Univeristy of Applied Sciences (Finland), Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands) VIA University College (Denmark), University of Southern Denmark (Denmark), The Higher Education Institution of the Province of Liège (Belgium), Erfurt University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Coventry University (Great Britain), University of Žilina (Slovakia), Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic), University of Pardubice (Czech Republic), Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) and Warsaw University of Technology (Poland).
 
What are my career prospects? 
University‘s aspiration is to  provide countrie‘s transport sector with highly qualified and prepared specialists, who would ensure the smooth functioning and development of transport sector and thus apply their scietific experience in practical activities. Upon completion of this study programme you may successfully work and hold managerial positions at diverse enterprises ranging from automobile exploitation, repair services, retail, insurance companies, Organizations under the supervision of The Lithuanian Road Administration, Traffic Police, Fuel and Retail system, Road Transport Inspectorate, Fire and Rescue Department, Airports, Transport terminals  and other transport and maintenance related enterprises. Career prospects comprise not only transport, but other branches of economics. The successful and systematic completion of four years of Transport Engineering study programme leads to further acacademic development in second cycle studies.
