Department of Engineering Graphics
Academic staff of Department of Engineering Graphics teaches students of various study programs engineering graphics and related subjects that develop spatial thinking and provide knowledge about the preparation and management of technical graphic documents, which forms the basis of fundamental engineering preparation. The Department of Engineering Graphics employs has 19 members of academic staff.
A group of employees of the department analyzes and prepares Lithuanian standards for technical graphic documents in the Technical Committee of the Lithuanian Standardization Department LST TC 30 Technical Product Documents.
Since 1993 The Department of Engineering Graphics has master's studies, one of the first established in Lithuania after the proclamation of Independence, in which Masters of Engineering and Computer Graphics were trained. Currently, it is a specialization in Digital Engineering Graphics Technologies in the second cycle Information Technology study program.

History
The Department of Engineering Graphics was established in 1961. Until 1992 it was called the Department of Drawing.
At Department of Engineering Graphics, subjects of engineering graphics and related ones are taught to first- and second-year undergraduate students at the Antanas Gustaitis Institute of Aviation, Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Construction, Transport Engineering, Creative Industries, Fundamental Sciences and Mechanical Engineering. Under the common name of engineering graphics, the disciplines of graphics taught to bachelors, which develop spatial thinking and provide knowledge about the preparation and management of technical graphic documents, form the basis of fundamental engineering preparation. Theoretical design (graphic modeling) is taught consistently and methodically in this common discipline called engineering graphics basics (drawing geometry), basics of preparation of technical graphic documents (technical drawing) and creation of graphic documents - drawings by computer (computer graphics).
Since 1993 The Department of Engineering Graphics has a Master's degree program titled Digital Engineering Graphics Technologies. Graduates study engineering automation tools in CAD systems, plug-in development in computer-aided design systems, computer-aided design models and algorithms, computer-aided design technologies, information visualization technologies, and other disciplines.
The department cooperates with similar departments at national and international levels, organizes joint seminars and conferences. The department focused in the field of research related to the adaptation of students in higher education, research into the effectiveness of the acquisition of knowledge and skills in graphic disciplines. With the introduction of computer technology to the field, this topic has also become relevant in another aspect and is related to the application of computer not only in the design but also in the teaching process.
With Lithuania's integration into the European Union, becomes important to harmonization of normative documents (in this case, technical drawing standards) in accordance with global and European Union requirements. A group of employees of the department analyzes and prepares Lithuanian standards for technical graphic documents. Together with universities of Baltic states, the department organize international conferences every 2 years (in Vilnius in 1994, 1998, 2004, 2009, 2015, 2021) and participate in the Association of Engineering Graphics BALTGRAF of the Baltic Universities.
At the department since 1993. The Technical Committee of the Lithuanian Department of Standardization LST TK 30 "Technical Product Documents" has been operating in 1996. The Committee participates in the activities of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Since 1996, the Department has been a member of the International Society of Graphic Geometry (ISGG).
Three doctoral dissertations were prepared and defended at the Department: Daiva Makutėnienė (supervisor - Assoc. Prof. Dr. L.Čiupaila) in 2000, Girūta Kazakevičiūtė-Januškevičienė (2000), Rytė Žiūrienė (supervisor - Assoc.
Heads of the department:
Prof. dr. J. Charitas until 1971.
Doc. dr. H. Gylys 1972 - 1977
Doc. dr. Raslan 1977 - 1987
Doc. B. Zabotka 1987 - 1993
Doc. dr. P. Audzijonis 1993 - 1996
Doc. dr. P. Gerdžiūnas in 1996. - 2007
