Virtual Exhibition: „Places“ by Madara Bodniece
In the exhibition „Places“ Madara Bodniece is using architecture, urban views to describe one’s relationship with environment, society and inner self. Abstract paintings are combined with linear detailed drawings, monochrome versus fluorescent brightness.
Madara Bodniece is explaining „The world is all connected – it might sound as an old topic, but this subject might be more crucial than ever – crisis of pollution, depression and
loneliness in the world that is connected 24/7. We cannot isolate ourselves – everything echoes even if we try to ignore or deny something. In these paintings I am visualizing my dreams, hopes with reality and meditation about them. Physical reality weaves together with inner reality, the one that is not tangable, but we all experience it“.
