Exhibition of Industrial design projects. Design week 23'

VILNIUS TECH Faculty of Architecture Design Department is marking the decade of its activity and presents an exhibition of student works of the Industrial Design study program. It also invites to familiarize yourself with the academic activity processes of the department. The industrial design study program is an interdisciplinary I and II cycle study that integrates the knowledge and competences of humanities, applied arts, technological and social sciences. Design as a branch of applied art and science, which includes the artistic, aesthetic, engineering construction of various products, the formation of interior or exterior tangible environments, the design of household objects by applying innovative methods of scientific analysis, training, and artistic and technical construction.

According to this study program, engineers-designers of industrial products are trained, specialists who, based on the idea that the object of the material environment must be useful, functional and aesthetically valuable, are able to design industrial objects with exceptional artistic value and appearance for the target purpose. By combining the principles of product functionality and aesthetic appeal, future specialists aim to ensure the integration of created industrial products into both national and global selection.

Using innovative teaching methods and modern design thinking tools, students are guided to work in teams. When implementing new methods of problem-based teaching, continuous complex design, it is encouraged not only to acquire fundamental scientific knowledge, but also to spread university intellectual expertise to the general public.
