Network of European-Asian Rail Research Capacities (Acronym – NEAR2), Framework 7

Network of European-Asian Rail Research Capacities (Acronym – NEAR2), Supervisor Prof Dr Gintautas Bureika, 2012–2014, Framework 7.
Final Summary of Concept Document No6 “Safety and Security” was prepared. Summary consists of 3 chapters: the first chapter is about major issues examined in the framework of CD6 with focus on development of the Trans-European railways corridors; the second is about identified problems and needs and the third chapter is about anticipated solutions and proposed studies. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are given.
Three Research Descriptions on Railway Safety and Security are created. The first Description is “Common rail safety policies & common safety methods”, the second is “Interoperability: certification and authorisation” and the third is “Rail safety monitoring and risk control”.
 

Innovative research methods, solutions development and application in transport structures, means of transport and their flows

DAT currently implements the project of national integrated programme „Innovative Research Methods, Solutions, Development and Application in Transport Structures, Means of Transport and their Flows“. 
 
Implementation of this project comprises the conduction of theoretical and experimental research, experimental methodology creation and improvement of alternative fuels, experimental data sampling and analysis, efficiency assesment of the suggested alternative fuels, preparation of scientific papers and reports.
 
National Integrated Project facilitates distribution and preparation of recommendations of research results among business entities.
