World Earth Day is observed on March 20. On this date, the astronomical beginning of spring also occurs with the vernal equinox, when day and night are of equal duration across all regions of the Earth.

This day serves as an opportunity to engage in discussions on environmental issues and to promote the adoption of environmentally responsible practices. It provides a moment to reflect on the challenges facing our planet, including climate change, environmental conservation, and the reduction of excessive consumption. Each individual, even through modest daily actions, can contribute to the preservation and stewardship of the natural environment. Responsibility for safeguarding the Earth is shared by all and must be exercised every day.

The Vilnius Tech Library reminds that the university’s subscribed databases provide access to electronic resources on a wide range of relevant topics. In recognition of World Earth Day, we invite you to explore several of the latest e-books on climate change and environmental protection, which offer insights into contemporary environmental challenges and potential strategies for addressing them.

Access to full-text e-books is available exclusively via the VILNIUS TECH computer network. Remote access is also possible through the VPN service, allowing users to consult these databases from home.
