Admission Requirements

How can I know if I am eligible to apply?

Please compare these requirements with your own qualifications to assess your potential eligibility.Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm your eligibility for admission via email or phone before you apply. To receive an official evaluation, you will need to submit your application through our online system at https://apply.vilniustech.lt. Please ensure that you upload all required documents, including:– Educational documents– Proof of English proficiency– Other requested personal informationOnce your application is submitted, the Admissions Team will process it and provide either a final decision or a request for additional information if needed to complete the evaluation. -
How many academic reference are required?
For Bachelor’s applicants – at least 1, for Master’s – at least 2. For scholarship applications – at least 2.
Application Procedure

How long does it take to know the answer after recording the interview?
There is no specific timeframe for receiving a decision based solely on the interview. The final admission decision is made only after both your application documents and your interview have been evaluated. The evaluation process usually takes around 2–3 months, although the exact timeframe may vary depending on the application period and the number of applications being processed at that time.

What is the next step after admission?
If you are granted admission, you will be asked to pay a one-year tuition fee in advance and a registration fee. We will issue you a TRP mediation letter number, and you will have to apply for it at one of the VFS Global offices. Please note that the TRP procedure will start only after receiving the tuition fee payment.

If I have a Lithuanian passport and want to study in English, should I apply now as an international student?
As a Lithuanian citizen, you should apply via the national system LAMA BPO; you can choose studies in English there as well. You can get more information if you contact priemimas@vilniustech.lt

How many intakes do we have?
We only have one intake in September.

What is the maximum study gap for admission?
The maximum study gap can be 3 years. If the study gap is longer than 3 years, you have to have eligible work experience. Provide certificates proving what your field of work was to the application portal. Faculty will evaluate whether your experience was relevant to the study field.

What are the application deadlines?
Non-EU applicants: June 15; EU applicants and Ukrainian citizens: August 1.

Do I need to take an entrance test?
For Architecture – yes, for other programmes no.

Are programs taught in English?
Yes, they are fully taught in English language.
Scholarships

I want to get a scholarship, what should I do?

First, select the study programme you want to be accepted for, pay the application fee and then add an additional application for Scholarship.We have a limited number of places for the scholarships, and usually we receive many applications from students with very high grades and a strong academic background. We evaluate everything: motivation, interview, recommendations, achievements from the Olympiads, various contests and so on.If you wish to apply for the scholarship, make sure you meet all of the requirements, write a good motivation letter, attach every document stating your academic achievements and make a good impression during the interview to show that you are the strongest in the row. -
Why did I not get a scholarship?
We have a limited number of places for the scholarships. We receive many applications from students with very high grades and a strong academic background. We evaluate everything: motivation, interview, recommendations, achievements from the Olympiads, various contests and so on. Even if you meet all the requirements, it is still not a guarantee that you are the strongest in the row. Applying for the scholarship does not automatically guarantee that you will receive it.
Tuition and other fees

I have paid the application/tuition fee, but it still shows as unpaid in the system. Why is this?
It can take a few days or even weeks for an international transfer to reach the university’s bank account. Once it is confirmed by our finance department, we will mark the payment as collected in your application, and you will get a notification about it by email.
VILNIUS TECH dormitory

I got a conditional acceptance/acceptance letter and want to reserve a room in the dormitory. How can I do it?
We assign a place in a dormitory room for each of our international students for the first study year. We will make the reservation as per your conditional acceptance letter. You can choose to live in the University dormitory, a private hostel, or to rent an apartment in the city. In August, you will be able to book a room after getting the final acceptance letter. What should I mark while filling out the TRP application in "Is your place of residence currently declared in the Republic of Lithuania?"
2. Mark “no”; you will be available to declare your place of living only after arrival in Lithuania and after signing the study contract, and then you must declare your living place within 7 working days at the Municipality Office (seniūnija).

Can the university assist in securing a VFS appointment?
Unfortunately, the university is unable to assist you in securing a VFS appointment.

Does the university assist with the migration of students' family members?

Consists of a unique combination of numbers, and it is used to apply for a Temporary Residence Permit in Lithuania through the Migration Department website https://www.migracija.lt/home?lang=en

I am coming to study in Lithuania as a minor.
Minor students (under the age of 18) must bring a notarised Letter of Authorization/Permission/Affidavit from their parents/legal guardians:• To sign a contract for studies with the university;• To sign a contract with a dormitory;• To open a bank account in Lithuania;• To apply for a Temporary Residence Permit in Lithuania. -

Can I transfer my credits to VILNIUS TECH?
VILNIUS TECH offers transfer to Undergraduate or graduate study programmes fully taught in the English language.Applicants may seek to transfer (recognise) part of the study programme, but the volume of the course units may not exceed:No more than 75% of the volume of the first-cycle/undegraduate study programme;No more than 25% of the volume of the second-cycle/graduate study programme;No more than 40% of integrated studies intended to cover.Applicants willing to transfer to VILNIUS TECH should send their official academic transcript and study subject descriptions from previous studies to the International Studies Centre (ISC) by email tsc@vilniustech.lt. ISC will contact a relevant faculty coordinator, and an individual study plan will be prepared. If the applicant accepts the study offer, he/she will have to complete a regular application for studies at VILNIUS TECH (https://apply.vilniustech.lt/). -
Can I work while studying?
Yes, Bachelor’s degree students can work 20 hours per week. Master’s degree students can work full-time (40 hours per week).

What about health insurance?
Non-EU students: valid international health insurance covering at least €30,000 and the entire study period.
