Students acquire knowlege in business communication and are able to apply it in practice.
Module description
The course on Business Communication (BC) consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. Students get acquainted with fundamental concepts and features of BC that influence communication efficiency, communication barriers, ways of eliminating them, means and ways to make communication more efficient, to address, analyse and critically assess different issues of ineffective communication, solve them in a rational way by verbal and nonverbal means in different communicative situations: during meetings, discussions, debates, public speaking, group work, employment interviews, conflicts. Practical tasks are individual and group:, meetings, negotiations, job application supporting documents employment interviews, field research, etc.

Entrepreneurship fundamentals for creative industries as learning subject provides possibility for students to obtain economic, managerial, and sociologic (theoretical and practical) knowledge about inception and development of enterprises. The course deals with digital imaging technologies. It acquaints with digital video concepts, tools, elements. The following are examined in more detail: a) Peculiarities of raster and vector graphics and their application in different media. b) Peculiarities of human visual perception. c) Colour and its standards and correction in the digital space. d) Interaction of a digital image with time. e) Principles of extracting and processing complex digital images and their application in different media. f) Integration of the creative process with digital imaging technologies.

The purpose of the Electronic Communication and Social Networks course is to acquaint the students who have chosen the Bachelor of Communication Sciences with the place of electronic communication in the context of other communication methods, to highlight the most important features of electronic communication that connect and distinguish it from the other two fundamental communication methods of Western civilization – oral and written. In the course, through theoretical studies and practical tasks, the most important features of human experience and social design, which are formed by electronic communication, are revealed, paying special attention to the so-called culture of algorithms. Mass Communication
Module aim
The course aims to familiarize with the classical and modern theories of mass communication, a review of the most important means of mass communication theories and methodological problems studied. Historical development of mass communication theories overview.
Module description
To introduce the mass communication theories, their problems, old and new media, and their interaction. Understand what separates and share new media with the old, the traditional media. Find out what are the signs of new media and how it changes the traditional concepts of mass communication; new media as part of a research in mass communication research field.
Coursework consists of theoretical-descriptive and critical, analytical parts (estimated at 33.3 percent.). The student chooses one of mass communication theory, it describes from the scientific literature, and later analyzed on the basis of the theory of criticism in the scientific literature and provide the overall picture, as far as theory is relevant today as it has changed, what can be studied on the basis of the theory today. Graphic Programming for Mobile Devices
Module aim
1) Work with user interface prototyping software for mobile devices;
2) Create interface prototypes for mobile devices;
3) Choose interface styles for different mobile device platforms;

Current progress of technology enables almost everybody to have a mobile phone. Very often, the phone is used not only for its primary function, but for various other tasks, essentially it becomes multifunctional mobile device. Graphical possibilities of these devices are discussed in the module.

Module aim
To help students develop linguistic and communicative skills, acquire knowledge according to CEFR C1 level in order to communicate spontaneously both in written and spoken forms on daily, cultural and professional topics.
Module description
During the Academic German Language course students reach a high enough (C1) level of German that is necessary for studies in an academic institution. It is an integrated skills course that develops students’ abilities in reading, writing, listening and speaking in an academic context. It will enable students to prepare assignments or write up a research paper in German, to participate in tutorials and seminars conducted in German.

The course provides students with an opportunity to become familiar with the theoretical basics of quantitative research methods, learn about the purpose and specifics of quantitative research, and become familiar with data collection in quantitative research. Students conduct quantitative research: they develop a research program, collect data and analyze it. Students prepare a research report – a course paper. The students should demonstrate the ability to select suitable research methods, to carry out a survey, and to interpret and present research results.

The course is based on the analysis of the main Media Studies concepts, the examination of the most widespread methodological approaches to media studies and the discussion of actual theoretical and practical problems, concerned with the production and consumption of media culture. The presentation of multimedia design elements for the specifics of using graphical means of expression and compositional principles. Analyzing visual design and development cycle of the imaged object. Taught create abstracted image of the object, to create the specific environment.

Module aim
To deliver to the students the knowledge and practical skills about marketing activity, strategic and tactical decisions, used for product sales in local and international markets.
Module description
During marketing course holistic marketing concept and main elements are analysed. For students variety of marketing objects is presented. Main marketing concepts: needs, wants and demands are presented. In the course main strategic marketing elements and marketing information systems are introduced. In the course external and internal marketing environment is analysed and practical analytical tools (PESTEL, SWOT, etc.) are presented. Also main marketing research methods and tools are discussed. For students marketing planning process and marketing plan are introduced. During the course main product concept, product level, service marketing is discussed. Main pricing, distribution channels, promotion strategies for marketing of products are presented. New communication trends and innovative internet tools and media are presented. Students of the first and second courses of full-time bachelor studies must attend at least 60% of exercises and at least half of the theoretical lectures according to the timetable.

Media Ethics
Module aim
The aim of the course is to introduce the main theories of normative ethics, to analyze the influence of media on moral attitudes and to critically evaluate various ethical aspects of media.
Module description
The course introduces the main theories of normative ethics (virtue ethics, utilitarianism, deontology) and the possibility of applying these theories to both traditional and new media. When analyzing ethical problems and moral dilemmas arising in the media field, various methods of conflict solving and situation assessment are applied. The neutrality of the media is reconsidered by asking how much the media strengthens and how much it weakens moral consciousness. Current problematic issues of media ethics are considered both on a personal, interpersonal, and societal level. The relationship between media ethics as a field of applied ethics and other fields of applied ethics is shown.

The aim of the Course is detailed studies of the development of film industry from the emergence of cinema technology in the 19th century to the most important developments in contemporary film industry. Students will also get acquainted with the system of film industry, production, distribution and exhibition, will encourage students’ critical attitude towards global film industry. After completing the course students will be able to analyze and evaluate film industry processes and to understand the principles of film industry.

Module aim
The aim of the course is to present the pecularities of music industry, how music affects listeners and what are the technical possibilities and ways to develop a musical product.
Module description
The program is structured to review the phenomenon of music and reveal its place in the cultural and industrial context. The object of study is investigated in various aspects. The introductory part of the course overviews physical properties and organization principles of music, as well as music communication; it is examined how music reaches and affects the human mind. Regarding the technical aspects of music there are these specific issues distinguished in the development of a musical product: musical instruments, sound reinforcement, recording. A brief summary of the Western music history reveals how demographic, technological and social factors influence the development of music and music industry. Review on music bussiness includes artists’ management, music publishing, music production and organization of concerts and festivals.

Knowledge of printing technologies, their classification, advantages and disadvantages of individual printing methods, possibilities and limitations of application to different products for printing, introduction to the equipment and materials used in the production of printed products. The problem of color reproduction in digital and printed media is discussed. The technology of production of book publications is introduced. Pricing of printing products and modeling of companies’ activities are analyzed. Knowledge is evaluated by exam.

Module description
The course analyses the city as a creative communicative field and explores the concept of the creative city as a new model for urban regeneration and development in a globalised world. The course teaches the principles of field research, teamwork and project management. The course consists of theoretical and practical parts.
The course introduces students to urban public space interventions from the point of view of creative and entertainment industries; introduces the types of urban spaces in the city, their research and methodology, the topicalities and peculiarities of the system of public spaces; the concept of the creative city and the city as a medium. Practical creative activations are prepared, implemented and publicised during the course. Students plan creative activations in urban spaces, develop vision, identify limiting factors for implementation. The course promotes result orientation, discusses the issues of consistency of the goal, the means and the result. To optimise the implementation process of the creative project, the issues of teamwork, project management phases, the links between punctuality, fulfilling commitments and real work in creative industries are discussed. Course also focuses on the planning and implementation of communication of creative intervention. The course concludes with a discussion on the progress and results of the implemented creative project, possibilities for further development, the potential for the development of urban interventions, future directions and scenarios for the development of cities, creative industries and media relations

The course introduces students to urban public space interventions from the point of view of creative and entertainment industries; introduces the types of urban spaces in the city, their research and methodology, the topicalities and peculiarities of the system of public spaces; the concept of the creative city and the city as a medium. Practical creative activations are prepared, implemented and publicised during the course. Students plan creative activations in urban spaces, develop vision, identify limiting factors for implementation. The course promotes result orientation, discusses the issues of consistency of the goal, the means and the result. To optimise the implementation process of the creative project, the issues of teamwork, project management phases, the links between punctuality, fulfilling commitments and real work in creative industries are discussed. Course also focuses on the planning and implementation of communication of creative intervention. Provide the students majoring in non-technical subjects with theoretical understanding of ICT developmental trends and possibilities of using ICT devices, as well as reinforce this knowledge with practical skills of using and managing ICT devices.
Module description
This study course will enable students to better understand the world of Information Communication Technologies (ICT), to learn about the recent and future trends of ICT technologies, to see how they could be used in professional activities as well as in evolving social communications. Also subject provides knowledge about working principles of modern wire and wireless telecommunication systems. The focus of this module will be on presenting ICT devices and how they could be used in such applications as “wearable computing”, “Internet-of-things” and so on. It will be shown how such devices could enrich and broaden the communications content and forms, or autonomously address various practical tasks. During the practical works, students will get a hands-on experience of dealing with ICT applications, test ICT devices, to understand their essential functions and perform essential control functions.
Students are required to attend all theoretical lectures, with attendance exceeding 50% over the course of the semester. Students must complete all assigned practical work, with at least 60% of these tasks completed as scheduled. -

There are two sides in the process of change: the initiators / controllers and those who carry it out or are surviving them. It is important to know how to build teams, collaborate, manage conflicts, communicate in the process of change. The subject also covers the wider context of change in order to make successful and creative decisions and communicate them to different groups of people.

The course focuses on analysis of the basic concepts and main issues of social responsibility. The philosophical origin of social responsibility is demonstrated by analysis of classic philosophical texts. The individual and political responsibility of contemporary social problems is discussed from historical and problematic perspectives.
