Hybrid learning approach is applied in this study program. Hybrid learning is an educational model where some students attend class in-person, while others join the class virtually from home.
Management science faces a close interaction of seemingly different fields, and the obtained results of this particular branch of science are crucial to many areas of human activity, including quantifying and managing processes, organizing work to design value creation and ensuring the smooth application of research results in everyday life.
The Master's degree program in Engineering Economics and Management is the result of the coherence between a broad knowledge and remarkable abilities of economics and management and other fundamental sciences based on quantitative research.
The necessity for such knowledge arises from the need to solve the management problems of recent organizations through the integration of laws on economics, management and technological sciences with the aim to provide effective solutions to complex situations or to justify the cost-effectiveness of innovative activities.
The Master's degree program in Engineering Economics and Management is intended for the students having a Bachelor's degree in technological or physical sciences and humanities.
The study program is aimed at preparing Master's degree students capable of creatively applying the latest knowledge of engineering economics and management sciences.
The trained specialists know the management peculiarities of recent organizations and are able to effectively manage the resources and processes of organizations, create the value for the user or conduct research in a changing environment.
The students of the study program in Engineering Economics and Management are provided a possibility of choosing between Aviation Management, Smart Industry Management and Business Design specializations. Business Projection specialization is taught in English.
The Aviation Management specialization concentrates on training highly qualified Master's degree students in Aviation Management. The students acquire the latest empirical research knowledge of aviation and management sciences.
The trained specialists are capable of applying integrated knowledge for assessing complex operational management problems encountered in the aviation sector and for objectively substantiating alternatives to their solutions.
The studies involve the observation of development trends in the aviation sector, the in-depth analysis of legal hints and planning, coordinating and control peculiarities and learning to run the organizations representing the aviation sector.
The Smart Industry Management specialization is designed to prepare highly qualified production management masters who are responsive to and knowledgeable about modern production trends. During their studies, they will acquire the latest knowledge in managing and evaluating smart production processes. Such specialists will be able to solve production management challenges in different industries by applying aspects of smart production system management, industrial digitization, intelligent business system modelling, and high-tech business process management.
Masters in this specialization will be able to manage departments carrying out production activities in companies of various profiles and state institutions and organize business using the most modern methods of smart industry and high-tech business process management.
The Business Projection specialization focuses on training highly qualified Master's degree students in the Management of Business Projection. The students gain the knowledge of business intelligence, innovation and high-tech management and the integrated management of multifunctional business projects.
The graduates in this study program manage to integrate multifunctional business design tools and scientifically substantiate business and public performance on the measures of value and utility.
The students integrally learn to solve the issues of business development and project management and are able to manage the value chain or the risk of projects through the integration of investment and portfolio management methods and measures under uncertain conditions.
The Specialization of Business Leadership is designed to prepare highly qualified specialists who have knowledge of entrepreneurship, organization’s management modernization, leadership. The specialists are able to comprehensively solve the problems of innovative business management in conditions of uncertainty.
Business leaders, who have leadership as well as entrepreneurial skills, focus on creating a learning environment in an organization, encouraging employees to improve, broaden their horizons, and solve problems creatively.
Graduates of Business Leadership will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to develop business, deepen creative thinking, create positive synergies.
Learning outcomes
The Master's degree program in Engineering Economics and Management is designed:
- to apply the principles of the engineering economics and management theory, strategic management, marketing management, accounting, business law and research methodology necessary for the preparation and implementation of management decisions;
- to integrally apply a specific knowledge of engineering, economics and management for developing a set of technical, information, technological, economic and managerial measures required for effectively managing organizational processes and implementing innovations;
- to independently apply the results of scientific and applied research, form and make wise decisions in the fields of production, aviation management and business design;
The graduates in the Aviation Management specialization will manage to lead in product creation, plan, organize, develop and take control over the process of providing aviation services, deal with the issues related to the aviation sector, carry out research and experimental activities.
Graduates of the Smart Industrial Management specialization will learn to create, organize and develop modern manufacturing companies, implement the latest technologies and methods to optimize, digitize and make industrial processes sustainable; apply existing knowledge of digital innovations, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics and automation, to create more efficient and flexible production and management solutions.
The graduates in the Business Projection specialization will manage to assess factors and criteria for the rational use of the required resources in the process of developing project management methodology and measures necessary for ensuring the implementation of multifunctional business design.

The course of Business Research Methodology deals with the definition of business research, stages of business research, principles of planning and organising research work, quantitative and qualitative research methods, methods of data collection and processing, principles of preparing a business research report.
Students must attend at least 60 % of the time scheduled exercises. -

Master Final Thesis 1
Module aim
To prepare for the research required for the final thesis, to highlight the relevance of the topic and the object of the thesis, to formulate the scientific problem, the aim and objectives of the thesis, and to analyse the scientific literature on the selected topic of the thesis. All of these are summarized by developing a scientific article on a topic related to the master’s thesis.
Module description
During the course Master Thesis 1 the final thesis topic, corresponding to electronic media management specialization, is selected. The scientific problem of the thesis is defined, the research object is highlighted, the research limitations, and the research place is identified. Moreover, students prepare an expanded research plan, develop the introduction part, and perform a review of the scientific literature. In cooperation with the thesis supervisor, a scientific article is prepared for the Young Scientists Conference (YSC) and uploaded to the conference system (YSC).

Innovations activities as complex processes, their structure, priorities and model are described and investigated. Social, economic, technological, psychological, ecological accepts of innovation, innovation management, its models, innovations in the various areas of the business and public sector are characterized in detail. It is noted in the studies that the creative work and initiative could be defined as the main elements of the innovations processes. Motivations in the innovations system, supporting of innovation, supporting innovations infrastructure, innovation marketing are analyzed.
