Structure
A Doctor of Science degree is awarded to a person who has successfully completed full-time or part-time doctoral studies, prepared a doctoral dissertation and defended it, or to a person who has defended a dissertation prepared independently (externally).

Admission requirements
Applicants for doctoral studies in a specific field through an open competition must hold a master’s degree or an equivalent higher education qualification and meet the other requirements specified in the Doctoral Admission Regulations.
Selection criteria
Preparation for admission
Although admissions take place in June, it is recommended to contact a potential supervisor in April or May and familiarize yourself with dissertation topics and study opportunities.
Select dissertation topics from various fields of science—technological, social, natural, and humanities. If no suitable option is available, you may propose your own topic.
After selecting your field of study, you will find a list of researchers who can serve as your doctoral supervisors.
To participate in the doctoral admission competition, please submit an application to the VILNIUS TECH Doctoral School in the second half of June. More information:
