The basis of studies consists of reflexive experiential learning, which helps to develop doctoral students' analytical and critical thinking, ability to evaluate their own and others' decisions, promotes a holistic and responsible approach to their activities.

Strategic management decisions' course discusses theories of markets, firms and their interactions and relevance to strategy theory, strategy theory as positive theory versus normative theory, long term value of capabilities based resources, intangible strategic resources and their interaction with performance of the firm, competitive interaction: clusters, strategic alliances and acquisitions, teams of managers and decision making, building dynamic, systemic, cognitive, and holistic strategy theory, empirical issues of researches investigating competence based strategy theory.

The course presents the management decision process, discusses the conditions (environmental impact), analyzes management decision-making models, delves into the peculiarities of group decision making, analyzes quantitative and qualitative decision-making methods and techniques, the application of multi-criteria methods in making management decisions in organisations.

During the course of Theory of Public Management the concept, content, context and evolution as well as perspective of public management are provided. Components and principles of public management, open, closed and hybrid models as well as methods of public management, legal, political, social, economical, cultural environment of public management, the role of synthesis of public and private sectors, their partnership are examined. The potential of public management, human, financial and information resources are evaluated. Also state budget role, content, planning and execution, applied aspects of budget theory, strategic planning, planning decision assessment, public management institutions, its image and public trust, function review of public institutions are analyzed. Public management ethics, professional ethics, political ethics and codes of ethic are exemined.

During the course of Management Theory the essence of management theory is provided, alongside with its development and modern directions. In addition, the essence of management decision making is provided with modern simulation methods and decision support systems. System theory is analysed, including the interpretation of the management problem solution on the view of system theory and the content of management methods, the character of its implementation making decisions on various management problems, the content of management functions and management tasks in the different areas are analyzed and the prospects of Management are considered.
