The Micro and Nanoelectronic Systems Design and Research Laboratory brings together all activities related to the design and research of micro and nanoelectronic systems. It supports the training of highly qualified specialists and researchers, and carries out scientific research and experimental development projects.

About the Laboratory

Research Areas

Main Activities

  • Conducting international-level research and experimental development in information and communication technologies, and in micro- and nanoelectronics.
  • Training researchers by providing opportunities for doctoral students in technological sciences to carry out theoretical and experimental research.
  • Involvement in training qualified specialists and teaching Bachelor’s and Master’s students in Electronics, Informatics, and Computer Engineering study programmes.
  • Dissemination of global scientific achievements in micro- and nanoelectronics.
  • Providing consultations, conducting feasibility studies on integrated circuits, and collaborating with companies in Lithuania and abroad.
  • Participation in the activities of the Lithuanian Chips Competence Centre “ChipsC²-LT”.

Work Areas

  • Development of application-specific bipolar, CMOS, and BiCMOS integrated circuits from concept to chip.
  • Integrated circuit design using CAD and TCAD tools recognised as industry standards.
  • Bipolar, BiCMOS, and CMOS process technologies with feature sizes ranging from 14 nm to 0.7 μm.
  • Development and research of self-assembly processes of nanostructures.
  • Design, analysis, and testing of digital hardware (VHDL, Verilog, SystemC, SPICE).
  • Analysis of digital hardware functionality and security using microphotography, image analysis algorithms, and differential power analysis methods.
  • Printed circuit board design and surface-mount device assembly.

Laboratory Staff

The staff of the Micro- and Nanoelectronic Systems Design and Research Laboratory carry out design and research in micro- and nanoelectronic systems. They contribute to the education of specialists and researchers, implement scientific research projects, collaborate with companies, and participate in the activities of the Lithuanian Chips Competence Centre.
