VILNIUS TECH doctoral studies cover 12 fields of science.

Full-time studies

  • Duration – up to 4 years.
  • Financed from the state budget, the doctoral student’s funds or the company’s funds.
  • The doctoral  studies and research are supervised by the doctoral student’s scientific supervisor.
  • Doctoral students, whose studies are funded by the state budget, are paid a monthly scholarship:

– for the first year – 1406 EUR

– for the second–fourth year – 1628 EUR

Part-time studies

  • Duration – up to 6 years.
  • Financed by the doctoral student’s funds or the company’s funds.
  • The doctoral studies and research are supervised by the doctoral student’s scientific supervisor.

Structure

A Doctor of Science degree is awarded to a person who has successfully completed full-time or part-time doctoral studies, prepared a doctoral dissertation and defended it, or to a person who has defended a dissertation prepared independently (externally).

Admission requirements

Applicants for doctoral studies in a specific field through an open competition must hold a master’s degree or an equivalent higher education qualification and meet the other requirements specified in the Doctoral Admission Regulations.

Although admissions take place in June, it is recommended to contact a potential supervisor in April or May and familiarize yourself with dissertation topics and study opportunities.
