About

Qualification: Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Studies can be completed in Lithuanian.

Duration of studies: 1 year.

This programme is planned as a hybrid (synchronous) master’s programme – classes are delivered in person while simultaneously streamed via virtual communication tools, and examinations are taken on-site at VILNIUS TECH.

Changes in the working environment in Lithuania and worldwide indicate that organisational operations are increasingly dependent on digital technologies, while their vulnerability to cyber threats continues to grow. The expansion of process automation, the development of cloud-based solutions, and the integration of artificial intelligence have made cybersecurity one of the key factors determining organisational stability and competitiveness. Organisations must constantly respond to a changing threat landscape, where the risks of both external cyberattacks and internal security breaches are increasing. International organisations, such as the OECD, ENISA, and the World Economic Forum, identify cyber threats as one of the most significant global risk factors today, and the demand for advanced cybersecurity leaders is increasing rapidly every year. This trend is closely linked to the fact that the NIS2 Directive, the DORA Regulation for the financial sector, GDPR requirements, ISO/IEC 27001 standards and other legal acts require organisations to ensure a high level of cyber risk management, to appoint competent responsible managers, and to implement accountable security governance practices.

In Lithuania, the need for cybersecurity experts is especially strong in the energy, financial, public administration, manufacturing, transport and logistics sectors, where operational continuity is critically important for national security and the economy. Organisational leaders increasingly need not only to manage team activities but also to understand the impact of cyber risks on business processes, make strategic decisions, plan incident response activities, coordinate recovery processes and ensure organisational resilience. Therefore, modern leaders require not only technological knowledge but also strong competencies in strategic management, change management, compliance, risk analysis and leadership.

The Cybersecurity Management (MBA) programme aims to prepare business administration professionals who are capable of creatively applying the latest knowledge in management and cybersecurity governance, who understand the challenges related to modern organisational operations, information security and resilience, and who can systematically analyse and solve practical cybersecurity and business management challenges using technology-based methods for analysing organisational activities and environments. Graduates will be prepared to make innovative decisions, assess their impact on organisations and society, and continuously improve and learn throughout their professional lives.

The Cybersecurity Management (MBA) programme is designed to develop leaders and higher-level managers who are capable of strategically managing cybersecurity processes and making data-driven decisions. The programme provides essential knowledge regarding organisational resilience, cyber risk identification and assessment, incident management, business continuity planning, technological infrastructure security assessments, the application of information security standards, and the development of strategic cybersecurity policies. Throughout the studies, students have the opportunity to gradually deepen their competencies, choose specialised study directions and gain practical experience by solving real cybersecurity management challenges in business and public-sector organisations. This study structure enables the programme to address the most pressing needs of the sector and prepare professionals who can operate effectively under uncertain and crisis conditions, while ensuring organisational safety and stability.

The MBA programme offers two module groups:

The Cyber Response and Business Continuity Module Group – intended for those who wish to deepen their knowledge in technological incident management, organisational resilience, project planning and implementation within the cybersecurity context.

The Cybersecurity Governance and Resilience Module Group – designed for individuals seeking to enhance their understanding of IT governance standards, organizational resilience-building processes, strategic decision-making, and integrating cybersecurity into overall business strategy.

Students who choose one of the alternative module groups will conduct a practice-oriented research project during the final stage of the MBA programme in Lithuanian or international organisations, where real business challenges will be addressed. The result of these practical studies is a comprehensive final project, accompanied by its public defense, attended by specialists and consultants from various business sectors.
