Since 1 September 2014, foreign languages have been offered as elective courses. Students can choose from German, French, Chinese, Norwegian, Italian, and Danish.

The Department conducts long-term research in linguistics and language didactics related to the development of language for specific purposes, terminology, and digital communication in the context of technology industries.
