The Geodesy Institute was established in 1992 to develop a modern geodetic reference system for Lithuania and to address the challenges of precise measurements and cartography that emerged during the period of independence.

To conduct high-level research, develop innovations for society and industry, and contribute to the country’s social, information, and technological development in the fields of geodesy and cartography.

The Institute’s Mission

To establish the State Geodetic Reference Network of Lithuania and continuously refine its parameters, develop Lithuania’s geodetic networks at the global level, and provide consultancy to public authorities and private companies.
