Student Internships

The Information Technology and Systems Centre (ITSC) at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) offers internship opportunities to the following students:

Students enrolled in information technology programmes.
Students from social sciences programmes interested in developing practical skills in project management.

Internships can be carried out by joining projects currently implemented by the centre or in one of its three departments:

Support department

Technical and software maintenance of computer workstations, installation and configuration of system and application software, and diagnostics and resolution of minor technical faults.
Infrastructure department

Installation of telecommunication networks, wireless network coverage surveys, configuration and testing of wireless access points, deployment and testing of virtual servers (LXC and Hyper-V), measurement of network cable performance characteristics, network traffic analysis, and the detection and resolution of network anomalies.
Programming department

Analysis and specification of user requirements, programming in PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, PHP, and Java, testing of developed software, and client training.

Those wishing to complete an internship at the Information Technology and Systems Center should submit a request via email to itsc@vilniustech.lt.

The email should include the following information:

Personal details: Full name, academic group, email address, and phone number.
Department: The specific department where you wish to perform your internship.
Skills: A brief description of your theoretical knowledge and practical experience related to the chosen department's line of work.
Motivation: A short statement on your motivation for interning in the selected department.
Duration: Your preferred internship dates/period.

The number of internship positions in all departments is limited; therefore, the information provided in the application and the date of submission will be taken into account during the selection process. Once your application is received, we will inform you of the decision regarding your internship via email within 5 working days.
