Wireless network coverage is available in all university buildings. Access points are installed in lecture halls, building lobbies and other areas where students gather.
Three university-wide Wi-Fi networks are available. Their names (SSIDs) are VGTU, VILNIUSTECH and eduroam. In some university premises, local wireless networks may also be in operation.
These networks are intended only for VILNIUS TECH employees. They provide access to all electronic resources available through the university computer network.
To connect to the VILNIUS TECH wireless network, use the common username and password.
Wi-Fi usage instructions are the same for the entire VILNIUS TECH community to ensure convenient and secure network access.
The Eduroam network is intended for VILNIUS TECH students and for members of other academic institutions visiting VILNIUS TECH. VILNIUS TECH employees may also use this network.
The Eduroam (education roaming) project provides visitors from academic institutions with convenient, secure and flexible internet access for learning purposes. Eduroam enables single-sign-on authentication: a member of an academic institution can connect to the wireless network of another institution using the same username (with the suffix @vilniustech.lt added) and password as they use at their home institution. No additional registration is required.
By connecting to the Eduroam wireless network, users agree to comply with the Litnet network usage rules.
Wireless Network Usage Instructions for Different Operating Systems
During events (seminars, conferences), participants and guests of VILNIUS TECH may use the university wireless network.
Event organisers must contact the VILNIUS TECH Information Technology and Systems Centre at least 3 days before the event starts.
The person responsible for the event will receive guest login details, which they must pass on to event participants and university guests. These login credentials allow access to the wireless network in the event locations.
Please provide the required information: event title, location, related internet links, expected number of participants, dates and times when wireless access is needed, any other relevant details.
