Divine Mercy 3D

Divine Mercy 3D

In 2018, to commemorate Pope Francis’s visit, the city of Vilnius, together with VILNIUS TECH “LinkMenų fabrikas” specialists, brought the world-renowned Divine Mercy painting into a three-dimensional space. Using advanced technologies, researchers and students from VILNIUS TECH “LinkMenų fabrikas” recreated the Shrine of Divine Mercy in virtual reality, allowing visitors to experience a 3D-rendered version of the iconic painting.

To bring the Shrine of Divine Mercy into virtual reality, laser scanning, photogrammetry, and 3D modeling techniques were utilized. This combination of technologies ensured a highly accurate digital representation of the real-life structure. One of the most demanding tasks was faithfully reproducing the painted Divine Mercy image in the 3D environment. Using cutting-edge scanning technologies, every millimeter of the painting was meticulously captured.

This legendary Vilnius artwork is now accessible to believers worldwide in 3D format through the digital space.
