The most important things in life are sometimes invisible, yet you can feel their presence. Enter the world’s smallest nativity scene—a miniature composition just one-third of a millimeter in size, crafted as an exact replica of the nativity scene in Vilnius Cathedral Square. Each figure is reduced by a factor of 10,000. This incredible achievement was made possible by the collaborative efforts of numerous scientists, business professionals, and public institutions. However, the majority of the work on this nanoproduction was carried out by students from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.
The NanoNativity gained global recognition, earning a spot in the Guinness World Records. It has been featured by leading international media outlets, including The Guardian, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Ellen, and many others. In 2018, it won first place in the Verslo žinių marketing competition “Password,” gold at the “Adrenalinas” advertising festival, and first place at the “LOGIN Best Internet Awards” innovation competition.
