Samsung Rocket

Ever dreamed of building your own rocket? While this rocket won’t take you to the stars, it’s sure to make you the star! Designed for Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Rocketmen entry in the Red Bull Soapbox Race, this rocket-shaped soapbox racer was a thrilling creation. The biggest challenges? A tight three-week deadline and a strict weight limit of 80 kilograms.

To bring this vision to life, digital fabrication technologies were used. A 3D model was created, and the structural chassis components were carefully designed. At VILNIUS TECH “LinkMenų fabrikas” metal workshop, the soapbox base was constructed based on technical blueprints. The rocket’s body was crafted from foam, which was cut, shaped, and polished according to the 3D model. The completed foam body was mounted onto the soapbox kart and given a vibrant finish using specialized spray-painting techniques, creating an eye-catching design.
