A device for drawing mandalas in sand and creating a meditative ambiance – this is the essence of the Sand Plotter, an elegant and innovative home decor piece. It allows users to create mesmerizing designs on quartz sand right in their living space. With its sleek design and cutting-edge technology, the Sand Plotter is a modern and artistic addition to any home.

The minimalist Sand Plotter is filled with quartz sand, and its construction is based on a two-axis CNC mechanism. Using this technology, a steel ball resting on the sand creates intricate patterns and mandalas. The ball is moved by a magnet hidden beneath the box, giving the illusion of it magically gliding through the sand.

The concept for the Sand Plotter was developed by Julius Šapalas, a student from the VILNIUS TECH Faculty of Electronics, who collaborated with the VILNIUS TECH “LinkMenų fabrikas” team to bring this smart installation to life.
