Guests from Finland visited the Faculty
On the 9th of April, guests from Finland visited the Faculty of Transport Engineering at VILNIUS TECH – representatives of the Logistics and Seafaring Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Unit of the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), as well as partner organizations.
The delegation from Xamk included Research Managers Tiina Poikolainen and Jussi Sutela, Project Managers Aaro Tarvainen (project “KoKoLiike – Smart and Sustainable Solutions for the Kotka City Transport System”) and Tuomas Rantavuo (project “Logistiikkalabra – LOBRA”). The meeting was also attended by Harri Mustonen, Logistics Specialist at Kouvola Innovation (Kouvola RRT), and Juho Lehti, Project Manager at “CaaS Nordic – Intelligent Transport”.
During the visit, the guests met with the Faculty’s administration and were introduced to the University and the Faculty, including its study programs and ongoing research activities. The meeting focused on discussing potential areas of cooperation in research, studies, and project-based activities, highlighting the growing importance of international partnerships and the potential for joint initiatives.
“International academic cooperation today is an integral part of a modern university and a strong faculty. Meetings like these create added value not only for institutions but also for the entire transport engineering and logistics community, as they open the door to new ideas, joint research activities, and the development of innovative solutions. We are proud to demonstrate that the Faculty of Transport Engineering at VILNIUS TECH educates competent specialists, conducts advanced research, and fosters an environment where science, studies, and practice function as an integrated ecosystem,” says prof. dr. Olegas Prentkovskis, Dean of the Faculty of Transport Engineering.
