Air Traffic Control Practice Base

Air Traffic Control Practice Base is a unit of the Antanas Gustaitis Aviation Institute (AGAI) at VILNIUS TECH, dedicated to the practical training of students in the Flight Control programme. Students gain real flight control skills and develop situation assessment, decision-making, and communication skills required for work in the air traffic management sector.

Training Unit Activities

The Air Traffic Control Practice Base delivers training and practical preparation for Flight Control students under programmes that are continuously updated and aligned with:

Legal acts of the European Union and the Republic of Lithuania;
The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO);
The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL);
The requirements and recommendations of the Transport Competence Agency (TKA) for initial air traffic controller training.

Accreditation

Flight Control students are trained under an accreditation certificate issued by the Lithuanian Transport Competence Agency, confirming compliance with international training quality standards.

Goal

To ensure that students in the Flight Control programme acquire practical competencies required to begin a professional career in air navigation and flight safety, while contributing to the improvement of national and international air traffic management systems.
