Research areas

Academic staff of the Department of Roads conduct a variety of research activities.

  • Professors’ research

    Prof. Dr. Donatas Čygas 

    Research area: Traffic safety research and analysis, intelligent transport systems, and new technologies for road construction, repair, and maintenance.

    Prof. Dr. Alfredas Laurinavičius 

    Research area: Road winter maintenance and concrete pavements.

    Prof. Dr. Audrius Vaitkus 

    Research area: Road network planning and road design, pavement structures, mechanistic–empirical modelling of pavement structures, earthworks, technical regulation in the road sector, and traffic safety.

    Research area: Road asset management, investment projects, and their evaluation.
