Email

All VILNIUS TECH students and employees receive an email account automatically upon enrolment or employment at the university.

Email address structure:

• For employees: name.surname@vilniustech.lt Lithuanian characters in names and surnames are replaced with standard Latin letters. If two or more people have the same name and surname, the email address of the later-employed person is shortened to v.surname@vilniustech.lt.
• For students: name.surname@stud.vilniustech.lt If two or more students have the same name and surname, the email address is shortened to v.surname@stud.vilniustech.lt.

• Employees are allocated up to 8 GB of storage for their email account in the MS Exchange system. Students are allocated 100 GB of storage for their email account in the Office 365 system.
• Employees must use the email signature structure recommended by the Public Communications Directorate when signing official university emails.
• Users are prohibited from sharing their username and password with third parties.
• The email user is responsible for all actions carried out under their account, including any harmful or unauthorised activity.
• Users must follow ethical standards and are responsible for the content of the information they send.
• Users are prohibited from requesting, sending or distributing information that is illegal, threatening, offensive, contrary to public morals, promotes violence or discrimination based on ethnicity, race, religion or social status, infringes copyright, promotes pornography, or similar content.
• Users are prohibited from sending a large number of emails to a single recipient unless this has been agreed with the recipient in advance.
• Users are prohibited from distributing information related to commercial activities, or sending viral messages or unsolicited emails (spam).

For employees and PhD students VILNIUS TECH recommends using the following applications to access the email system:

• Microsoft Outlook 2019
• Microsoft Outlook 2016
• Outlook for Mac 2019

When not at the workplace or when working from home, employees and PhD students can use the web-based email interface available at: pastas.vilniustech.lt

For bachelor’s and master’s degree students Student email is integrated into the Office 365 email system. It is accessible at: outlook.office.com

VILNIUS TECH email system servers have effective software installed to protect against receiving virus-infected emails and spam.

When a new type of spam appears, it is possible to receive a small number of such messages for a short time.

On university computers, the Information Technology and Systems Centre specialists will configure the email client for you (after you register the request at https://pagalba.vilniustech.lt).
