For Companies

When addressing interdisciplinary and complex challenges, organisations often face systemic difficulties in bringing together the required research expertise. We act as an integrating platform that coordinates and mobilises expertise from different scientific fields to solve complex problems.

For Start-ups

You have an idea, but lack access to business partners, market knowledge, or advanced research infrastructure. You may not know how to test your solution in real conditions and turn it into a working technology. We are here to bridge this gap by connecting you with research expertise, industry partners, and the infrastructure needed to move from idea to product.

For Researchers

Researchers conducting applied interdisciplinary studies often face challenges in validating research results in real-world conditions, engaging partners, and securing funding. We create opportunities to validate research results in collaboration with industry, help identify and attract funding, bring together relevant partners, and reduce administrative burden.

For Students

Students who wish to gain practical experience, participate in research projects, work in laboratories, develop technological solutions, or build start-ups are invited to contact the Competence Centre.

Assoc Prof Dr Ronaldas Jakubovskis, Laboratory of Innovative Building Structures

Together with the Smart and Climate-Neutral Production Processes, Materials and Technologies Competence Centre, we prepared a proposal for a Horizon Europe programme call.

The Centre’s Director, Simonas Barsteiga, provided comprehensive support in preparing and submitting the proposal for evaluation—from identifying consortium partners and organising meetings to drafting the proposal and addressing financial matters.

I would gladly collaborate again with the Smart and Climate-Neutral Production Processes, Materials and Technologies Competence Centre on future joint projects.

Gerimantas Bakanas, CEO, AB Miesto Gijos

VILNIUS TECH stands out for its ability to understand the needs of business, support them with scientific expertise, and jointly develop solutions that contribute to a sustainable economy, efficient use of resources, and the strengthening of the urban ecosystem.

Such partnerships build trust, encourage innovation, and lead to results that benefit not only organisations but also society as a whole. We believe that close collaboration between academia and business is essential for long-term progress and responsible growth.

Nerijus Skridaila, CEO, Clean4Planet

Clean4Planet is a start-up developing innovative solutions in environmental protection and waste management. Collaboration with the VILNIUS TECH Competence Centre is highly valuable for us.

The Centre’s team supports us not only with scientific expertise, but also by actively contributing to the development of ideas, research planning, and the search for innovative solutions. We greatly appreciate their support for start-ups, professional approach, and ability to help young companies grow and turn ideas into real projects.

VERSLO ŽINIOS

As Lithuania looks for ways to accelerate its innovation ecosystem, the need to develop a sustainable model of cooperation between science and business is increasingly emphasised. Experts agree that long-term results depend not on isolated initiatives, but on consistent, everyday work and long-term partnerships — from university laboratories to industrial companies.

ŽINIŲ RADIJAS

According to data from 2020, human-made products and infrastructure have exceeded the total biological mass of the planet. This means that the weight of the plastic produced by humanity has surpassed the weight of all animals living in the world, while buildings and other infrastructure outweigh global plant life. Continuous progress generates increasing amounts of waste and reduces the Earth’s natural resources. What can be done to protect the planet more effectively?

LRT. LT

Climate change is not only about pollution and CO₂ emissions. It is a complex, interdisciplinary issue that involves aquatic ecosystems, biogeochemical cycles, chemical substances and other processes. For many members of the public, these processes are not visible, yet scientific research shows that their impact is long-term, as stated in a publication prepared by VILNIUS TECH.

ŽINIŲ RADIJAS

Business needs solutions that science can provide, while researchers need support to carry out their projects. These topics are discussed in the programme with Prof. Artūras Kilikevičius, Director of the Institute of Mechanical Science, who together with his team studies the use of biomass for energy production and the simultaneous generation of synthetic gas, and with Simonas Barsteiga, Director of the VILNIUS TECH Competence Centre for Smart and Climate-Neutral Manufacturing Processes, Materials and Technologies.
