The Library’s Gallery A invites you to visit Vilija Drižienė’s painting exhibition “Between City Walls and Nature”.
The historic Old Town of Vilnius, its architecture, and natural landscapes are the main sources of inspiration for Vilija Drižienė’s artistic work. Her many years of experience in the field of cultural heritage conservation have shaped a distinctive artistic vision, reflected in her sensitive use of colour, light, and the traces of history visible in every painting.
The exhibition “Between City Walls and Nature” presents works created in oil and acrylic, where historic architecture, the element of water, and ever-changing natural landscapes intertwine. This is the artist’s third personal exhibition, featuring both earlier and her most recent works.
Warm light falling across historic walls creates a unique sense of tranquillity and timelessness, while expressive brushstrokes reveal the artist’s rich inner world. As Vilija Drižienė herself explains, these paintings are created from a desire to share warmth and a sense of comfort – qualities that, together with the artworks, find a place in the homes of those who choose them.
The exhibition at the Library’s Gallery A will be on view from 2 July to 28 August.
