How does the events industry operate when normal working conditions simply cease to exist?
We invite you to a meeting with Louise Stickland, a journalist with extensive experience in the international events and entertainment technology industry, who has been working with professional stage lighting manufacturer Robe for around two decades.
During the meeting, Louise will share insights into the experience of Ukraine’s events and technical production industry during the war. Drawing on real stories from industry professionals, she will explore how the live production sector has adapted to extreme circumstances through creativity, technology crossovers, flexibility, and out-of-the-box thinking.
Students will hear about the unique challenges and risks faced by lighting, camera, broadcast, and other event technology professionals, as well as the transformation of technologies and working processes and the need to find solutions under exceptionally difficult circumstances. The discussion will also explore why music, live events, and the arts remain vital sources of community, resilience, and inspiration during times of crisis.
This is an opportunity to look at event engineering not only through the lens of technology, but also through the people behind it, creativity, responsibility, and the ability to adapt.
The event will take place at the Faculty of Creative Industries, Trakų St. 1, Atlantai Hall.
