VILNIUS TECH hosted a delegation from ten Canadian higher education institutions, a visit organized by the Embassy of Canada to Lithuania and the Canadian Bureau for International Education. This visit is a part of the Canada-Baltics Education in Defence Partnership Mission.
During the meeting, discussions focused on further cooperation in the fields of defense, dual-use technologies, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, cybersecurity, logistics, infrastructure, robotics, space technology engineering, biomedicine, environmental engineering, high technologies, and others. The possibilities for joint Horizon Europe projects were also explored.
Dual degree study opportunities were discussed with the British Columbia Institute of Technology and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), with another meeting scheduled for November to further this initiative. This upcoming meeting will also include the University of Waterloo, a previously established partner—last year, VILNIUS TECH Rector Romualdas Kliukas paid a visit to this university.
Following the meeting, the guests toured the laboratories of the Faculties of Mechanics and Transport Engineering, where they were introduced to VILNIUS TECH’s scientific infrastructure and ongoing research.
We would like to thank the VILNIUS TECH academic community for their active participation in the meeting with Canadian university representatives and for showcasing the university’s scientific and research potential. We also extend our gratitude to the Embassy of Canada to Lithuania and the Canadian Bureau for International Education for organizing this visit and selecting VILNIUS TECH as a potential partner.
VILNIUS TECH hosted representatives from the following institutions: British Columbia Institute of Technology, Brock University, Carleton University, Dalhousie University, Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), Lakehead University, McMaster University, Saint Mary’s University, SAIT – Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and the University of Guelph.
