We invite you to visit Monika Mikoliūnaitė's photo exhibition „City as a way of life", which you will find in VILNIUS TECH Library Gallery A (Saulėtekio al. 14).
The author about her exhibition:
I am a civil engineering student at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH). I was always fascinated by the aesthetics, the unique layout of each city, the interesting architecture of the buildings. The relationship between visual beauty and purposeful constructions. I started taking more photos during the quarantine. Then the attention was drawn to the older buildings, I didn't photograph people in the streets or movement. But after a while, I wanted something different, so that there was more life in the photos. Therefore, in this exhibition, there is a lot of city bustle and passers-by creating action in suspended moments.
The city is the center of life stories. As we live in it, we become connected to each other. In the center of the city, we can experience its diversity, where the voices of other languages, the improvisations of street musicians or the architecture conveying history intertwine. You walk through the streets with passersby of different temperaments and cultures. Maybe one of them will notice something unusual in you and you will be invited to meet. Will you continue the planned trip or choose to discover something that is still unknown.
