Audrius Martinaitis (1978-2005) was born in Vilnius. He studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and Vilnius Lyceum. His school years had a great influence on his musicality, but it was also at that time that the first computers appeared in Lithuania, which interested Audrius very much. He used computer programs to create techno music and graphic images. The artist R. Dichavičius selected two of Audrius' graphic designs for the 2003 calendar dedicated to M. K. Čiurlionis. In 2001, the recording company "Koja Records Group" released two musical works of Audrius "O buvo taip…“, and "Ir taip", which belong to the underground style. The author of the music created the CD cover design by himself.
"My paintings are fantasies, an attempt to play with objects, colours and light. The graphic possibilities are endless, so I try not to tame my imagination and my dreams. I LIKE WHAT I DO", Audrius once said.
The artist's dream to organise an exhibition of computer graphics works was realised by his mother Eugenija Martinaitytė, many years after Audrius' death. Human life is like a dream, which is why the exhibition, based on one of Audrius' paintings, is called Dream.
Discussion of the exhibition will take place on January 4, 4 p.m. in Gallery A.
The exhibition at Gallery A will be open until 10 January.
