Benas Narbutas was born in 1959 in the Klaipėda district. From 1971 to 1978, he studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art. In 1984, he graduated from the State Art Institute of Lithuania (now the Vilnius Academy of Arts) with a degree in sculpture and began working as a drawing teacher at the Telšiai Applied Arts Technical School. Since 1987, he has been teaching visual expression to students of various departments at the Vilnius Academy of Arts.

"While working in this field, I must continuously improve my qualifications and drawing skills, which is why I constantly explore the drawing methodologies of art academies in various countries, as well as different traditions and innovations in visual expression. I pay great attention not only to the theoretical knowledge of plastic anatomy drawing but also to continuous drawing practice," says Assoc. Prof. Dr B. Narbutas.

B. Narbutas participates in various exhibitions, drawing and creating sculptures of various sizes from stone, wood, chamotte, and white clay, as well as medals, reliefs, and ex libris.

You can get a closer look at B. Narbutas' drawings at the exhibition of his works on the second floor of the Central Library.
