We are inviting to visit Patricija Vytytė’s painting and graphic art exhibition „Processes“, on view at Gallery A (Saulėtekio al. 14, 2nd floor).
The exhibition „Processes“ features sketches, drawings, and paintings created by Patricija Vytytė over the past decade, previously shown in various contexts but brought together for the first time in a personal exhibition. While „Processes“ cannot be called a retrospective, these works – originally developed as sketches for installations or stage scenography – reveal the artist’s creative processes.
About the Artist
Patricija Vytytė is a theatre and film scenographer. She graduated with a Master’s degree in scenography from the Vilnius Academy of Arts (2015–2022). In 2018, she studied at the Latvian Academy of Arts through the Nord+ program, and in 2019 completed a post-graduate internship at art galleries in Barcelona, Spain.
She made her scenographic debut in 2017 with the productions „Heda Gabler“ / „Hedda Gabler“ (dir. Eglė Švedkauskaitė) and „Kreditoriai“ / „Creditors“ (by August Strindberg, dir. Darius Meškauskas) at the Russian Drama Theatre in Vilnius. That same year, she designed the set for „Musių valdovas“ / „Lord of the Flies“ (dir. Monika Klimaitė) at Panevėžys Theatre „Menas“.
Among her later works are the musical „Pasiutimo dienoraštis“ / „Diary of Rage“ (dir. Justė Burškaitytė, 2020), an installation for the applied arts performance „Žaiskime Pabradę“ / „Let’s Play Pabradė“ (with the educational arts agency Artscape), and scenography and costumes for the movement performance „Pykšt pokšt tratata“ / „Bang Bang Tratata“ (dir. Monika Klimaitė, choreographer Pheadra Soutou, Greece).
Work in Film and Festivals
In 2020, she created the scenography for the short film „Dance“ (dir. Danielius Minkevičius), which was selected for the competition program at the prestigious Camerimage festival. She also creates visual concepts for commercial photo shoots, advertising campaigns, and music videos.
She is a frequent participant in theatre and visual art festivals. In 2020, her scenography for the performance „Skaistumas“ / „Purity“ (dir. Greta Štiormer) was awarded Best Concept at the Klaipėda Theatre Festival. That same year, she presented the video installation „Gyventi“ / „To Live“ at the Room-19 Festival.
In 2022, Vytytė debuted as a director with the short film „Sala“ / „The Island“. In 2024, after receiving an individual artist’s grant, she presented her installation exhibition „UTOS“ in six cities across Lithuania.
The exhibition „Processes“ at Gallery A is open until August 25.
You're warmly welcome to explore the artist’s creative journey!
