We invite you to visit the art exhibition of Egidijus Godliauskas in the Exhibition Gallery A ''Deleted Borders / 2". This exhibition organizes for the first time in the Vilnius Tech Library Gallery. This is the author's first personal exhibition in Vilnius.
Egidijus Godliauskas
He was born, raised, and creates in Joniškis. In 2012, he graduated with a master's degree in painting from Šiauliai University. Participates in various exhibitions since 2008. During that time, he organized 20 personal exhibitions and participated in 39 group exhibitions in various Lithuanian cities. Since 2017 he – a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union. In 2014 and 2019, the artist was awarded a scholarship by Joniškis District Municipality. In 2019, the Lithuanian Culture Council awarded a scholarship to a young artist. The painter founded the painting studio "KIRVIS" in Joniškis, where he teaches children and adults the secrets of painting.
Colors and expression are very important to an artist, so he often paints an abstraction. Egidijus created the cycle of Joniškis landscapes and has also painted portraits of various Lithuanian and world-famous people. Art doesn’t have to be “comfortable” or beautiful, and a painting isn’t just a decoration on a wall. Art has to raise questions, and the artist can express his opinion boldly. Egidijus is a productive creator, he has his own routine, which does not allow wasting time. The painter doesn’t wait for inspiration to come, but goes to the studio, takes the brush and creates.
In the exhibition, you can see many as 17 abstractions, landscapes, and several portraits. This exhibition consists of several different styles of painting. The exhibition features the latest works created in 2019-2020. There are also several older works, which complement and expand the exhibition's exposition and time limits. All paintings are, as it were, unrelated works. They are not bound by time, theme, or space. The only object that connects them is the author. The painter intuitively filters images of everyday life through his perception and depicts them on canvas, erasing the boundaries between existing or non-existent places. The boundaries between real and imagined reality disappear. The creator prefers color and form in order to convey a unique perception of himself and the environment around him.
We also invite you to visit the virtual exhibitions of Vilnius Tech library.
