Assistant Professor of the Business Technology Department in the Faculty of Business Management of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Mr. Rimvydas Labanauskis lectured in Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) in Finland during 19-22.04.2016. Professor R. Labanauskis gave his students lectures on the following topics: "Quality Management and Profitability" and "Quality Management Methods in Logistics".
Although the Seinajoki city looks calm, the university life is buzzing. Each week guests or visiting professors are attending SeAMK from abroad and there are many events organized by students. The University is famous for its Virtual Reality Laboratory, which is the only one designed in Finland with as much as 5 screens allowing researchers and visitors to move in the virtual space. Rimvydas had the opportunity to fully get acquainted with virtual model of Seinajoki Central hospital unit. Another presented virtual model was a construction design of a football stadium for the local team. The development of these and many other digital construction projects are actively participated by SeAMK teachers and students. It should be noted that SeAMK is very interested in cooperation with VGTU within implementation of various projects, not only in technology and virtual reality areas, but also in the development of business related study programs.
Seinajoki, located in the Southwestern part of Finland, is considered the fastest growing and most developing city in the country, praised for business creation and development adapted for the environment and the implementation of many construction projects. Local university offers studies for more than 5,000 students and about 380 employees. The University consists of 4 faculties: Business and Culture, Food and Agriculture, Technology, Health Care and Social Work. About 10 percent of the students of the University are from abroad. Also, the university has more than 200 partners in higher education institutions around the world.
This is the second R. Labanauskis' visit to Finland in teaching assignment. In autumn 2015 he lectured about Process Management for the students of Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
