Nearly two hundred graduates from the VILNIUS TECH Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Business Management received their Bachelor’s and Master’s diplomas during a festive ceremony. Eleven graduates were awarded diplomas with honors for their excellent academic achievements.
The graduates were congratulated by the VILNIUS TECH Vice-Rector for Strategic Partnerships, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adas Meškėnas, who emphasized that the knowledge and competencies acquired during their studies are much more than just preparation for a specific profession.
“The studies you have completed here are more than a profession. They represent the ability to see the big picture, make decisions, take responsibility, work with people, and, most importantly, work for people. It is a path that requires not only the mind but also the heart. I wish you courage in finding your own path, perseverance in the face of challenges, and above all, sincerity—whatever you do, do it with great purpose,” said the Vice-Rector.
During the celebration, the graduates were also congratulated by Julita Varanauskienė, Deputy Chair of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania. Addressing the young professionals, she emphasized that architecture, business, and the financial system alike rely on responsible decisions and the ability to create value for society.
“Some of you create buildings, others create business models, and we create the stability of the financial system. Therefore, we are all architects. In our daily activities, we must balance a cool head, evidence-based decisions, and a burning heart to create something good. That is what I wish for you today: celebrate yourselves, keep a cool head, and never let anyone extinguish your burning heart,” said J. Varanauskienė.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, an alumna from the Faculty of Architecture invited her peers to remember that life does not have to be a constant race against time.
“Young people today live under constant pressure to keep up—to make the right choices, graduate on time, find a good job, and climb the career ladder. However, today I want to remind you that we are not late for anything. A diploma is not the finish line, after which a single continuous path of life begins. You can change direction, start over, grow, and reinvent yourself,” the alumna said.
She also emphasized that higher education is not merely about acquiring professional knowledge or qualifications, but also carries the responsibility to be active, critically thinking members of society.
“Education becomes truly meaningful only when it does not remain just our personal achievement but transforms into responsibility for the world we live in,” she said, urging the graduates to take an interest in social processes, defend democratic values, and contribute to the strengthening of communities.
