VILNIUS TECH Library invites you to follow the published new dissertations. The dissertation „Effect of microorganisms on the physical and mechanical properties and biodecay of cellulose-based materials“ („Mikroorganizmų poveikis iš celiuliozės pagamintų medžiagų fizikinėms ir mechaninėms savybėms ir bioskaidymui“) prepared by VILNIUS TECH, Dovilė Vasiliauskienė. The dissertation was prepared in 2017–2022, supervisor – Dr Jaunius Urbonavičius.
The dissertation was defended at the public meeting of the Dissertation Defense Council of Materials Engineering in the Senate Hall of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University at 1 p.m. on 6 October 2022.
„The dissertation investigates the physical and mechanical properties of the cellulose-based composite boards impregnated with hemp seed, linseed, or tung tree oil and the composition of the microorganism community affecting such
materials. The investigations described in the dissertation aim to create the ecological protective coating from natural oils on the composite boards of lignocellulosic origin so that these would be resistant to mechanical, water effects, and the destructive impact of microorganisms and to elucidate the composition of microorganism community that degrades the lignocellulose. “
