"Foundations of Communication in Philosophy, Part I: Antiquity, Middle Ages, Renaissance" („Komunikacijos pagrindai filosofijoje, I dalis: Antika, Viduramžiai, Renesansas“). The book is written in Lithuanian. The textbook presents and analyses the links between the sciences of communication and philosophy from the perspective of historical chronological thinking. Travelling through historical epochs, the textbook seeks to look at communication through the eyes of eminent philosophers and to reinforce the view that the basic concepts and terms of communication are derived from the relationship between communication and philosophy, reflecting on the importance of communication, dialogue, debate, oratory, rhetoric and other forms and modes of communication, and on the relationship between ethics, language, the meaning of thought, and knowledge. The topics developed in the textbook are presented in the context of communication, introducing readers to the ontological (being), epistemological (cognition), axiological (values), ethical (morality/morality), linguistic (language), social and cultural aspects. These aspects are not chosen by chance, as they combine to form the general principles of communication, which are rooted in philosophy and extend to the individual, family, community and societal levels. The theoretical and methodological material of the textbook is complemented by carefully selected excerpts from original philosophical works, which enable readers to reflect on the ideas of the thinkers who wrote these texts from a communicative perspective. This is the first part of the textbook to focus on three historical epochs: Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
