„My photographic training has been mainly self-taught. Contact and learning with photography was early, my great-uncle had books, prints, documents and negatives of different authors with whom he worked directly due to his work as a museographer: Edward Weston, Cartier Bresson, Robert Capa, David Seymour, Manuel Álvarez Bravo“ (Álvaro Alejandro López)
Photographic series „De Natura Libris“ portrays the interactions we have with books: physical and abstract. The corporeity of a book is recorded through its structures, textures, forms and signs of use. Experiences are ultimately individual, evoked by any number of attributes: the content of a book, its textures and smells, the memories it awakens, or simply the aesthetic beauty of its parts.
The photography exhibition at Gallery A will be open until 28 of November.
