Benas Narbutas Exhibition „White Signs“ at the VILNIUS TECH Library

August 26, 2026

We invite you to visit „White Signs“, an exhibition of sculptures and medals by Benas Narbutas, on display in the second-floor foyer of the VILNIUS TECH Library (Saulėtekio al. 14).

Benas Narbutas teaches visual expression to undergraduate students at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and actively participates in exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. He creates sculptures of various scales using stone, wood, chamotte clay, and white clay. His works combine minimalist forms with sacred content. In addition to sculpture, he creates ex libris artworks, medals, and reliefs. The artist draws inspiration from biblical texts, as well as from the cultural heritage of Judaism and Christianity.

In his white-clay works, simplified compositions distilled to their essential forms acquire symbolic meaning and a meditative character. Imagery inspired by biblical texts is transformed into universal signs of spiritual experience that resonate within the context of contemporary art.

VILNIUS TECH welcomes international students: Orientation Days have begun
As the new academic year approaches, VILNIUS TECH is eagerly preparing to welcome its incoming international students. To make their first days at the university and in the new city as smooth as possible, the university’s International Relations Office (IRO), together with ESN VILNIUS TECH, is organizing Orientation Days. Taking place from August 27 to September 1, the program will help newly arrived international students get acquainted with the university, the study process, and life in Vilnius. A variety of social and cultural activities will also help them integrate more easily into their new environment. The Orientation Days program will begin on August 27 at the VILNIUS TECH Central Building (Saulėtekio al. 11). From 10:00 a.m., students are invited to register, officially confirm their arrival, and receive special welcome packs featuring university merchandise. The official program will begin at 11:00 a.m. Students will be welcomed by university representatives, followed by presentations about the study process, university administration, and available services. The first day will also introduce students to leisure opportunities in Vilnius. Representatives of GO Vilnius and JUDU will introduce students to the city, its services, and the public transport system. Attention will also be given to psychological support available at the university, as well as to the activities of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN VILNIUS TECH). The day will conclude with a Grand Lithuanian Culture Evening, allowing students to learn more about Lithuanian culture and traditions. On Friday, August 28, students will learn about the activities of the VILNIUS TECH Sports and Arts Centre, safety and emergency services in Vilnius, dormitory rules, and the process of exchange programs. They will also have the opportunity to learn their first Lithuanian words during an introductory language lesson. After the informative sessions, students will take part in a range of social and interactive activities, including a university tour, a guided tour of Vilnius old town, and a billiards evening, providing an opportunity to get to know other newly arrived international students. Although the main Orientation Days program will take place on August 27-28, activities will continue until September 1. Students will also be able to participate in events organized by ESN VILNIUS TECH, including the “Freshmen’s Celebration,” “ESN Karaoke Night,” “Comic-Con: Cosplay Night,” and a special day with their mentor. Starting on August 31, meetings with faculty coordinators will take place. These meetings are one of the most important parts of the Orientation Days program. During them, students will receive all relevant academic information related to their specific study programs, schedules, assessments, and other academic matters. Each faculty has a different meeting time and location for exchange students, so everyone is encouraged to carefully check the program and make sure they do not miss their meeting. Orientation Days are the first step in beginning a new academic and international journey at VILNIUS TECH. The activities throughout the week will help new students get to know the university, adapt more easily to their new environment, and confidently begin the new academic year. Students can find the full event program HERE and in the information sent to them directly.
