VILNIUS TECH Hosted the Fifth CliMAFlux Consortium Meeting

July 1, 2026

June 17th 2026, the Faculty of Transport Engineering hosted the fifth consortium meeting of the Horizon Europe project CliMAFlux. The meeting brought together project partners from across Europe to review the project’s progress, address technical challenges, and define the next steps towards the development of next-generation, high-efficiency axial-flux drive technologies.

Throughout the meeting, partners presented the latest achievements across the project’s technical work packages. Discussions focused on integrating axial-flux electric motors, power electronics, and other drivetrain subsystems, as well as advances in predictive control algorithms to enhance system performance and efficiency. The consortium also reviewed the progress of system validation in a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) environment and discussed preparations for testing the developed technologies in a vehicle demonstrator.

Sustainability remained a key theme throughout the meeting. Consortium members presented strategies for integrating circular economy principles into the development process, with particular emphasis on motor life-cycle management, component reuse, recycling, and sustainable design solutions to reduce environmental impact.

Project manager from the VILNIUS TECH side, Assoc. Prof. Dr Viktor Skrickij, Director of the Transport and Logistics Competence Centre. According to him, the consortium meeting in Vilnius represented an important milestone in strengthening collaboration among the project’s international partners and ensuring the effective coordination of the upcoming project activities. The discussions and decisions made during the meeting will support the development of innovative, energy-efficient, and sustainable electric drive solutions for the future of transport.
