Artificial Intelligence: Between Innovation and Responsibility

April 17, 2026

Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of the contemporary ecosystem of science, business, and creative industries. Generative models, large language systems, algorithmic decision-making, and intelligent platforms are transforming not only programming practices, but also the study process, legal frameworks, game development, and digital culture. In this rapidly evolving environment, it is essential not only to apply the latest technologies, but also to critically assess their impact on society.

The VILNIUS TECH Library invites the academic community to explore the field of artificial intelligence through the latest scholarly and practical literature. The selected resources present the development of AI from multiple perspectives—ranging from theoretical foundations and ethics to programming, the gaming industry, and transformations in higher education.

You can borrow these books through the VILNIUS TECH Virtual Library. After receiving a notification that your order is ready, pick up the items at the designated location: the Central Library (1st-floor lobby) or the reading room in your faculty.

The VILNIUS TECH institutional members can access the e-books free of charge by logging on to the University’s computer network and from home by connecting to the VILNIUS TECH network via VPN.
For offline reading, the offline IPC Reader application must be installed and the selected books must be downloaded to the reader while connected to the institutional network. The books can then be read offline later. For more information on e-books, please refer to >>>

The International Day for Biological Diversity is observed on May 22 and is dedicated to raising awareness of the diversity of life on Earth and the importance of its conservation. The observance underscores the global significance of maintaining ecological balance, preventing species extinction, and ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources. Today, biodiversity conservation is closely intertwined not only with the natural sciences, but also with technological innovation, engineering solutions, and the sustainable development of urban environments and infrastructure. Rapid climate change, environmental pollution, urbanization, and the intensive exploitation of natural resources are driving the need for innovative approaches. Consequently, biodiversity-related challenges are increasingly relevant across a wide range of disciplines — from environmental engineering and energy systems to construction, transportation, and smart city technologies. The community of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University is invited to make use of the subscribed EBSCO Publishing  database, which provides access to thousands of scholarly articles, e-books, and other academic resources covering a broad spectrum of topics, including: biodiversity and ecosystem conservation natural sciences and life sciences research sustainable engineering solutions the impact of climate change on the environment and infrastructure green energy sustainable urban development and smart cities environmental protection, ecology, and biodiversity circular economy and sustainable development Access is available from VILNIUS TECH computer network or via VPN. As a security measure, two-factor authentication is additionally required (i.e. verification from mobile device app or by call).
