We are looking to recruit a lab technician (research assistant) to support our research activity in the field of piezoelectric electromechanical actuators at the Faculty of Electronics, at Vilnius Tech. The ideal candidate will be motivated to pursue research questions in the field of science and engineering, and will assist in undertaking laboratory experiments, perform measurements, collect, analyze and curate data, and assist in the upkeep of the lab environment. The technician will be working closely with experienced researchers in the field of actuators and transducers.
Duration: 3 months – 1 year (renewable)
Location: Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius Tech), Vilnius, Lithuania
Starting Date: October 2026 or as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical measurements on piezo-electric and ferro-electric resonators using signal generators, amplifiers, oscilloscope etc…
- Perform measurements on electro-mechanical resonators using laser vibrometry tools.
- Develop control and measurement scripts using Matlab and/or Python.
- Collect and organize experimental data.
- Undertake data processing on the collected data.
- Communicate in a timely and professional fashion the experimental results.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in applied physics, electrical/electronics engineering, electromechanical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with basic electronics lab equipment: waveform generators, oscilloscope etc…
- Proven competence in coding in either Matlab or Python is a must.
- The candidate will have demonstrated through their university education an ability to clearly communicate scientific results (e.g., lab reports, Master thesis etc…)

The position is initially open for a period of 3 months, but can, upon satisfactory performance, be extended by an additional period or transformed into a PhD opportunity.

Salary: EUR 2,400–3,000 gross per month, depending on the candidate’s education and qualifications. For candidates who are currently studying, the possibility of part-time employment may also be considered.
