Join VILNIUS TECH – a university for those creating tomorrow. Our community is united not only by the ambition to meet today’s needs, but also by the courage to develop solutions for the challenges of the future.
Our everyday work is driven by experimentation, fresh ideas, and a constant question: “Can it be better?” Here, technology is more than a tool – it is a space for creativity, where knowledge becomes action and ideas become reality.
If you want to grow, make an impact, and create together, your place is here.
Our team is growing and we are looking to recruit a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join us at the COMARC competence center at Vilnius Tech. to research high-frequency MEMS resonators operating in the MHz and GHz frequency ranges and their implementations for timing, sensing and telecommunication applications.
The selected candidate will conduct research on the design, fabrication, characterization, and application of high-frequency MEMS resonators and oscillators. The candidate will work closely with the ASIC team to design, test and co-integrate the CMOS with the MEMS resonators.
Duration: 2 Years (renewed yearly)
Location: Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius Tech), Vilnius, Lithuania
Starting Date: January 2027.
Responsibilities:
- Design and model high-frequency MEMS resonators and oscillators using analytical methods and multiphysics simulation tools.
- Optimize the MEMS performance using the outcomes of experiments as well as finite-element modeling (FEM) and analytical modeling.
- Contribute to MEMS fabrication, process development, and device integration.
- Characterize resonators and oscillators using RF characterization techniques.
- Publish research results in high-impact international journals and conferences and contribute to research proposals and collaborations.
- Where applicable submit or contribute to patent applications.
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Physics.
- Research experience in MEMS/NEMS resonators, and microfabrication.
- Experience with FEM modeling and simulation tools (COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS or equivalent tools).
- Experience in RF characterization and electronic circuits and/or hands-on experience with experimental characterization of M/NEMS devices would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to publish high impact scientific research.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
What We Offer:
In addition to being part of an experienced, highly motivated and growing team in the field of MEMS and ASIC design, the researcher will have access to advanced MEMS fabrication, micro/nanofabrication, RF measurement, and computational facilities, together with opportunities to collaborate with leading researchers and industrial partners. The position offers an excellent nurturing and motivating environment to develop one’s independent research skills, pursue innovative ideas and grow one’s career as an independent researcher.
The position may be combined with teaching at the Faculty of Electronics, offering additional remuneration and opportunities for academic career.
