Department of Mechatronics, Robotics and Digital Manufacturing

The Department prepares specialists who develop intelligent systems for manufacturing and industry. It conducts research in the fields of mechatronics, artificial intelligence, 3D printing and robotics.

About the Department

Established in 2017, the Department was formed by merging the Departments of Mechatronics and Robotics and Printing Machinery. The Head of Department is Prof Dr Vytautas Bučinskas.

Established in 2017, the Department was formed by merging the Departments of Mechatronics and Robotics and Printing Machinery. The Head of Department is Prof Dr Vytautas Bučinskas.
The Department offers two Bachelor’s study programmes: Mechatronics and Robotics, and Applied Artificial Intelligence.
It also offers two Master’s study programmes: Mechatronics and Mechatronic Systems.

Department Units

The laboratories and workshops of the Department of Mechatronics, Robotics and Digital Manufacturing operate as an integrated environment for research and studies. They support the creation of new knowledge and the development of practical competences.

Laboratory of Industrial Robotics

In the laboratory, students learn to operate and programme industrial robotic manipulators.

Laboratory of Mechanisms and Machines Elements

In the laboratory, students study motion transmission mechanisms and carry out performance measurements.

Laboratory of Mechatronic Systems

In the laboratory, students develop mechatronic systems and analyse their technical parameters.

Laboratory of Mechatronics Components

Students in the laboratory develop skills in identifying, connecting and programming mechatronics components.

Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing

Students in the laboratory create components for their projects using 3D printing and laser cutting and engraving technologies.

Laboratory of Mobile Robotics Research

In this laboratory, students construct and programme mobile robots, carry out testing and evaluate their technical characteristics.

Laboratory of Microrobotics

The laboratory enables students to design micromechatronic components, sensing devices and robotic system elements.
