The Department of Mobile Machinery and Railway Transport was established in 1985. It is headed by Dr Algimantas Danilevičius.
To foster academic values, strengthen the community of academic staff, students, and social partners, and develop activities in the fields of mobile machinery, cargo handling operations, contracting, and railway transport in Lithuania and abroad.

Mobile Machinery and Rolling Stock Dynamics

  • Study of dynamic characteristics and vibrations of transport vehicles
  • Analysis of rolling stock interaction with the road surface
  • Assessment of stability, controllability, and comfort parameters

Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechatronic systems and diagnostics of transport vehicles

  • Research and optimisation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Study of control and automation of mechatronic systems
  • Diagnostics and fault prediction of transport vehicle systems

Transport flow dynamics and road safety

  • Transport flow analysis and modelling
  • Research on road user behaviour and road safety
