Introduction to the Arts (SMSSB93101)

Students of years I–III can choose this module in February 2026 for the autumn or spring semester of the 2026/2027 academic year.
This course is designed to systematically and comprehensively develop artistic qualities, abilities, and skills based on a chosen field of art (dance, theatre, music, etc.), as well as to establish the foundations of artistic expression.
To provide essential knowledge about artistic values, develop artistic abilities and habits, and create conditions for continuous improvement of artistic expression skills within university artistic groups and activities.

By choosing this module, you can expect:

Students of years I–III can choose this module in February 2026 for the autumn or spring semester of the 2026/2027 academic year.
The module is intended for students who are already advanced in their chosen field of art and have strong independent work skills.
To create opportunities for independent development of artistic abilities, to build artistic expression skills, foster artistic habits, and continuously improve one’s artistic competencies.
To help students realize themselves in the field of art and present their creative work to the university community.
This module can only be chosen by students with an artistic background who have attended or graduated from art schools.
Students who wish to choose this module must:
- complete an application form;
- send the form by email to the Sports and Arts Center (smc@vilniustech.lt);
- indicate their artistic abilities and submit an artistic expression project in the application.
The application is reviewed within one working day of submission.
The decision is communicated to the student by email.
A student who receives a positive decision is assigned an artistic supervisor, with whom an activity plan for the entire semester is developed.
