Volleyball is a team sport that requires trust between players. It develops agility, jumping ability, speed, and tactical thinking. During classes, students learn the basics of volleyball (overhand and underhand passing, serving, attacking hits) and become familiar with the latest rules of the game.
For independent volleyball practice, students can join a dedicated Facebook group to arrange playing times more easily.
By attending sessions, students can earn credits for elective modules:
Elective Module: “Physical Activity and Health”
- opportunity to choose a preferred sports programme;
- professional coaches;
- ability to calculate daily physical activity calories.
First–third year students can choose this module in November for the autumn or spring semester of the academic year (3 credits, SMSSB93702). It is also possible to change the module during the semester (contact the Faculty Office).
This module is intended for first–fourth year students, offering a choice of sports programmes such as basketball, volleyball, tennis, fitness training, self-defence, judo, sambo, body conditioning, Nordic walking, and others.
During practical sessions, students systematically and comprehensively develop physical qualities, psychophysical abilities, skills, and competencies important for their future professional activities. The focus is on endurance, strength, coordination, and establishing regular exercise habits.
Students’ competencies are assessed using a cumulative scoring system based on summative assessment. The final grade consists of evaluations of the selected sports programme techniques by topic, attendance, and accumulated points.
Elective Module – “Healthy Lifestyle”
- opportunity to choose a preferred sports programme;
- professional coaches;
- ability to calculate daily physical activity calories.
First–third year students can choose this module in November 2025 for the autumn or spring semester of the academic year (3 credits, SMSSB93802). It is also possible to change the module during the semester (contact the Faculty Office).
Module Aim
To provide students with knowledge that helps them understand the impact of biomedical, social, cultural, and behavioural factors on human health, as well as how these factors can be managed.
During practical sessions, students are introduced to different forms of physical activity based on selected sports programmes (basketball, volleyball, tennis, fitness training, self-defence, Nordic walking, and others). The module develops healthy lifestyle skills and encourages consistent, regular physical activity.
